Rainbow Club

School led Holiday Provision at Kenilworth Nursery School

To meet the needs of working parents who wish to access a Maintained Nursery School but also need place for their child in the school holidays, Governors are developing a new holiday provision, Rainbow Club, which will be run by our qualified nursery school staff and will focus on creative activities and fun experiences, all planned by our qualified teachers. This will run alongside our ‘Outstanding’ School offer that is based within term time. Rainbow Club has developed in response to community feedback and more working parents wishing to access the outstanding school provision.

Rainbow Club is planned to be a creative and inspirational holiday provision with a resident artist and a range of creative and expressive experiences for young children that will include music and dance, cooking, forest school and a whole range of unique experiences planned by our teachers. It will be open to children who attend the Nursery School and their siblings aged 2 to 6 years old. If spaces are available then children who do not attend the Nursery School may be booked in once appropriate information is collected but this will be subject to availability and priority will remain with the children who attend, or previously attended the school for each club booked.

Children who attend will need to bring a change of clothing and a packed lunch. Snacks and drinks will be provided and children will be engaged in preparing and cooking some of those snacks. If the weather is good children must be wearing sun cream and must also have a sun hat/cap with them as this is an indoor/outdoor provision. Parents will need to complete allergy/medical forms prior to a place confirmation. Payment is in advance and must be completed by the Monday of the final School week before the holiday club is due to begin. Nursery vouchers are accepted. Please note the Nursery Education Funding (NEF)is available term time only so holiday club is a paid provision.

For continuity of care staff working in school will work flexibly so that they can also cover some of the holiday provision. In addition, enhanced activities will take place, such as work alongside a resident artist, that will allow access to different and inspirational materials and activities. The day will follow a pattern to provide some structure and continuity as a basis for children’s well-being, but children will also be involved in planning the activities and their ‘voice’ will be important in determining the day. The School’s newly renovated new sensory space and sensory garden will provide spaces where children can go and relax and have some downtime during a busy and exciting day.

There will be 4 x 2year old spaces, and 16 spaces for children aged 3 + in the first year. This may expand in response to demand in year 2.
